Organized in collaboration with health centers, hospitals, associations, and local entities, this initiative seeks to provide the population with essential resources and information to improve their physical and emotional well-being. The program will include workshops, informative talks, physical activity sessions, and various actions designed for all ages.
Activities will commence on Sunday, April 19, with a healthy walk in Parque Europa and the setup of an associations' stand. Throughout the week, diverse proposals will be offered, such as gymnastics workshops, cardiac education, healthy family eating, dance therapy, and sessions focused on mental health.
Topics to be addressed include Alzheimer's, memory, emotional intelligence, cancer prevention, pelvic floor health, and Parkinson's disease. There will also be activities related to breastfeeding, menopause, fertility, and the prevention of sexually transmitted infections.
The Health Week will also feature practical actions such as training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, hand hygiene, and smoking prevention. Additionally, initiatives for bone marrow and plasma donation will be promoted. Activities will be held in various locations across the city, including health centers, the Hospital Universitario de Torrejón, the Hospital Quirónsalud Valle del Henares, and the Centro Polivalente Abogados de Atocha.
The event will conclude on Sunday, April 26, with the ‘Autobús Drogas o Tú’ (Bus Drugs or You) activity in the vicinity of Parque Europa, alongside other informative and awareness-raising proposals. With this program, Torrejón de Ardoz reaffirms its commitment to public health prevention and promotion.
