Residents of Torrejón de Ardoz can now enjoy the municipal pools until August 30th. This year, prices remain frozen from previous years, with a reduced entry fee of 1.20 euros for registered unemployed individuals who can prove at least six months of unemployment status. The facilities also boast Spain's sole municipal wave pool.
Mayor Alejandro Navarro Prieto and the Councilor for Sports and Tourism, Miriam Gutiérrez, inaugurated the season. The opening hours have been extended by half an hour, operating from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The Juan Antonio Samaranch Sports Complex features three pools (children's, indoor, and wave), while the Blume complex offers three more (children's, 25-meter, and Olympic).
Users with the ADM card will receive free access, obtainable via the official website or in person at the pools upon presenting identification proving residency in Torrejón. Online ticket sales will be available three days in advance for ADM members and two days for other citizens.
As in previous years, a 50% discount will be applied to all tickets purchased after 6:00 PM. Additionally, guest passes for 5 swims are available for 25 euros, exclusively for Torrejón residents, allowing them to offer more economical entry to their visitors from other cities.
An investment of 280,000 euros has been allocated for facility improvements. These upgrades include a new pool bottom for the wave pool, an updated public address system, new showers in the beach area, sand replacement, and new vinyls in the glazed section. Facades and interiors have been repainted, and natural grass has been planted along the Cypress walkway at the CD Juan Antonio Samaranch.
The mayor highlighted that the renovated pools are maintained in excellent condition and emphasized the wave pool as an additional attraction within the leisure offerings provided by the Torrejón de Ardoz City Council, which also includes events like the Fountain Show, Veranearte, and Summer Cinema.
