Torrejón de Ardoz Celebrates its Month of Letters with Literary Figures and Cultural Activities

The program includes meetings with renowned authors, a continuous reading of 'Don Quixote', workshops, and dance performances for all ages.

The Torrejón de Ardoz City Council has organized an extensive Month of Letters throughout April and May, featuring prominent authors, children's activities, and cultural events for all audiences.

The program primarily focuses on literary encounters with nationally recognized figures. Author Jero García will present his work Camino de vuelta on April 30. Following this, Juan Gómez Jurado will visit the town on May 13 to discuss Mentira, and Santiago Díaz will conclude the series on May 26 with El Amo. Additionally, the Gabriel Celaya Library will host local authors on April 14, providing them with a platform to showcase their works.
On April 23, coinciding with Book Day, the Casa de la Cultura will be the setting for a continuous reading of Don Quixote, organized by the Atenea Association. In the same month, the XXVI School Literary Contest will take place on April 22. Historical commemorations will also be featured with the recreation of May 2nd, which will be held on May 1st in the Plaza Mayor.
Dance is also a part of this cultural month, with a performance by the Aída Gómez Spanish Dance Company on April 18 and the celebration of International Dance Day on April 29. For children, the Saturday and Sunday Puppet Shows in the Plaza Mayor will offer adaptations of classic tales such as Snow White and Puss in Boots.
Municipal libraries have prepared creative writing workshops, engraving sessions inspired by Lorca's work, and musical storytelling. Furthermore, the Thursday Film Series at the Casa de la Cultura will screen the film Father, Mother, Sister, Brother, enriching the cultural offerings for all tastes.
