The Torrejón de Ardoz City Council has approved a donation of 6,000 euros to assist those affected by the recent earthquakes in Venezuela, urging its citizens to show solidarity.

The municipal corporation will allocate this sum to alleviate the humanitarian emergency and joins the initiative of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP).
As a gesture of support and respect, a minute of silence will be observed on Monday, June 29th, at 12:00 PM, in front of the City Hall doors. This act aims to express solidarity with the Venezuelan people.

"The people of Torrejón have always shown our solidarity when misfortune has struck, and I am now sure that we will also rise to the occasion with the inhabitants of Venezuela. I encourage everyone who can, to the best of their ability, to collaborate in this initiative."

Alejandro Navarro Prieto · Mayor of Torrejón de Ardoz
The Council reminds that the quickest and most effective way to help the affected population is through financial donations to humanitarian organizations with a presence and logistical capacity in the country, such as the Red Cross and Caritas.
