Paving operations, set to commence this Friday, will impact both the car park roadways and the entry points to Coslada-San Fernando station. During this period, vehicle access and parking in the area will be prohibited.
As a direct consequence of these works, bus lines that typically use these stops will have their routes temporarily modified. Their stops will be relocated to San Pablo Avenue.
“"With this Plan, many problems currently experienced in neighborhoods of our city, whose asphalt has suffered greater wear and tear due to different circumstances, will be eliminated. The objective is that, in a few months, another Plan with the same objective will be launched, benefiting another significant number of streets."
This intervention is part of the Paving and Signage Renovation Plan, an initiative by the municipal government promoted through the Department of Territorial Policy, with a total investment exceeding two million euros. The primary purpose of this project is to improve the condition of the most deteriorated roads in the municipality, both in residential areas and key circulation points.
The delegate councilor for Territorial Policy, José Sousa, has detailed that the work will cover an area of over 101,000 square meters. Tasks will include milling the pavement, applying an adhesion layer, correcting covers and manholes, and repairing depressions where necessary. Concurrently, other actions are being carried out, such as network setbacks, intersection adjustments, and specific route modifications, in addition to the replacement of horizontal signage on various roads, totaling over 37,000 linear meters.
The plan was designed after a thorough technical evaluation of the municipal road network, which allowed for the identification of sections most in need of intervention due to deterioration or accident risk. These works are part of an ongoing program that will continue in the coming weeks and includes a second similar project, with an anticipated investment exceeding four million euros, which could commence between September and October.
