Student from Alcalá de Henares named Spanish Space Agency Ambassador

A student from IES Francisca de Pedraza in Alcalá de Henares has been designated an ambassador for the Spanish Space Agency, following her outstanding participation in the «Astronaut for a Day» program, which included a zero-gravity flight.

The young student, from IES Francisca de Pedraza in Alcalá de Henares, has successfully completed her participation in the innovative «Astronaut for a Day» program, an initiative by the Spanish Space Agency (AEE). She was chosen from over 400 applicants nationwide, highlighting the significance of her achievement.
The experience culminated in a unique zero-gravity flight aboard the Airbus A310 ZERO-G aircraft, conducted at the San Javier Air Base in Murcia. During this mission, the student shared the day with the Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities and two Spanish astronauts, in an event that brought together all 35 selected young participants.

In recognition of her participation and potential, the student has been officially named an Ambassador of the Spanish Space Agency for a period of one year. In this role, she will have the important mission of promoting scientific and technological vocations among youth, representing the Agency and her hometown, Alcalá de Henares.
