The governing coalition at Alcalá de Henares City Hall is in a critical state after the mayor's office withdrew delegated powers from the VOX spokesperson.

The decision, formalized through a decree, resulted in the loss of the Second Deputy Mayor position and the Department of Strategic and European Projects Coordination for the political group's representative. Despite this dismissal, the spokesperson retains the presidency of the Municipal Sports City and the District II Municipal Board.
The conflict stems from the handling of a 68-million-euro budget modification. According to the VOX municipal group, the Partido Popular attempted to approve this measure without prior negotiation, which they view as a unilateral breach of the government agreement signed at the start of the term.
The municipal government has justified the move by citing a loss of trust. The VOX spokesperson has rejected this claim, labeling it an excuse to break a political pact, and stated that his group will maintain their current responsibilities while analyzing their vote on each municipal initiative on a case-by-case basis.
Tensions also extend to the management of the Municipal Sports City, where the VOX spokesperson has reported difficulties in accessing the organization's full accounting records, a step he deems necessary for budget preparation. This has led to a public exchange of statements with other local government members regarding transparency and the oversight role of councilors.
