Urano Street, known for hosting the old fairgrounds, will change its usual appearance to become a lively medieval setting. This transformation aims to commemorate the 350 years of the town's connection with the Order of Santiago, a period that profoundly shaped the municipality's identity and is now being revived for all ages to enjoy.
One of the main pillars of this edition is the strong support for local talent. Although the market will attract merchants from various parts of the country, artisans from Paracuellos will take center stage, offering a showcase for local businesses. It is a golden opportunity for attendees to experience firsthand the quality of products made within the municipality.
Among the featured stalls, visitors will find Helena, a glass artisan, with her unique pieces, and the local bakery CooKiss, offering its well-known artisanal cookies. Entertainment will be constant throughout the three days, starting on Friday, April 17, at 6:00 PM with the sound of drums and fanfares.
Live music will be a highlight, thanks to the group Treefolk, who will set the mood with melodies played on bagpipes and drums. Street entertainment will feature performances by Luisete and his Troupete, as well as jesters and stilt walkers who will roam Urano Street, interacting with passersby and bringing smiles to both adults and children.
The market has also reserved a specific area for younger visitors, with a children's space offering various attractions and game tables designed for both learning and fun. This safe environment will allow children to become familiar with traditional games, while parents can enjoy the market with the peace of mind that activities are exclusively designed for their children.
On Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19, the market will open its doors at 11:00 AM, resuming activities at 6:00 PM after a short midday break. The event will conclude on Sunday at 9:30 PM with a Grand Farewell Parade, a visually stunning spectacle featuring rhythmic music, stilt walkers, and fire.
“"This market is a tribute to our roots. We want Paracuellos to proudly remember its connection with the Order of Santiago and, at the same time, serve as a showcase for our local artisans."
