Mejorada del Campo Celebrates its III April Fair with a Day of Free Activities

The Plaza de España in Mejorada del Campo will be transformed this Saturday, April 18, to host the III April Fair, an event offering a diverse program of free activities, from dances and workshops to concerts, running from 11:00 AM until midnight.

The festive day will kick off with a masterclass in Fit Gipsy Dance, a discipline that merges physical exercise with psychological well-being through flamenco, taught by Vanesa. At midday, families can enjoy workshops and participate in the Sevillanas Contest.
At 1:00 PM, the Casa Regional de Andalucía de Mejorada del Campo, in collaboration with the Asociación de mayores ‘Hogar del Jubilado Rafael Alberti’, will serve rebujitos while the public enjoys performances by the Asociación Mujeres ‘El Camino’ and the Centro de Mayores. Afterwards, the choirs from the Casas Regionales de Andalucía of Valdemoro, Arganda, and Mejorada del Campo will take the stage.
The afternoon, starting at 6:00 PM, will be dedicated to flamenco fashion with shows by José Perea and Sabella, interspersed with a performance by artist Imperio Reina. At 8:00 PM, awards will be presented for the Flamenco Dress Contest, in which residents could participate by uploading their photos.
At the same time, live performances will begin from various associations, schools, and invited groups, including the Asociación Mujeres el Camino, Mamis Flamenco, Acrópolis 96 de Parla, and the dance troupe from the Casa Regional de Andalucía de Mejorada del Campo. Also participating will be the Escuela Municipal de Música y Danza de Mejorada del Campo, the Casa Regional de Andalucía de Torrejón de Ardoz, the Escuela Rosy Serrano de Coslada, and the Escuela de Danza Esmeralda.
The celebration will conclude with two free concerts: the choir ‘Brisa Mejoreña’ will perform at 10:30 PM, followed by the group ‘Alma de rumba’ at 11:15 PM. The fair will close at midnight with the Salve Rociera and a candle lighting ceremony.
This event has been organized by the Department of Social Movement and Festivities, with the collaboration of the Casa Regional de Andalucía de Mejorada del Campo.
