The municipality of Paracuellos de Jarama has successfully closed the sixth edition of its Book Fair, an event that managed to bring together a large number of residents and visitors. Despite the rain, the program proceeded smoothly thanks to the installation of adequate infrastructure that protected the literary gathering. The event is consolidating its position as a cultural benchmark after three intense days of talks, author signings, and activities for all ages.
The VI Book Fair demonstrated last weekend that the interest in reading in the town surpasses any weather forecast. The organization anticipated adverse conditions by installing a large central tent and watertight wooden stalls, allowing attendees to browse bookstore stands and participate in cultural activities comfortably and without interruptions.
The event, now a well-established fixture in the local calendar, once again transformed the streets into a meeting point for literature lovers. The fair's structure not only focused on selling books but also aimed to create a pleasant and festive environment for residents to enjoy, enhanced by a gastronomy area with foodtrucks and relaxation zones under tensioned sails.
The fair was not limited to the main venue but extended its influence to the municipality's schools.
Among the prominent authors who participated in this edition were Marta Robles, Santiago Díaz, Pedro Simón, and Begoña Oro, who shared moments with their readers through talks and signing sessions that were very well received. Also present were authors such as David Lozano, Julio Salvatierra, Myrian Lejardi, and Gracia Iglesias, offering a wide variety of literary genres.
One of the pillars of this edition was its inclusive and varied nature, extending its influence to the municipality's schools. Writers, storytellers, and illustrators from various parts of the country held direct meetings with students, fostering reading habits from an early age. Inside the municipal tent, the program included children's and family activities, such as baby storytelling, oral narration, and musical performances, keeping the venue lively throughout the weekend.
The economic engine of the fair was its fourteen wooden stalls, where various bookstores and publishers showcased their latest releases. The response from residents resulted in great sales success, providing fundamental support for the book sector. The friendly and festive atmosphere facilitated interaction between booksellers and customers, who could receive personalized recommendations and discover new titles.
