Torrejón de Ardoz closed the month of May with an unemployment rate of 6.24%, the lowest figure for this period in the last 17 years, bringing the total number of unemployed people to 6,183.

A total of 67 residents of Torrejón de Ardoz found employment during the past month of May. This figure brings the total number of unemployed individuals in the municipality to 6,183. According to data released by the City Council, this represents the lowest number of unemployed people recorded in a May for the last 17 years.
The unemployment rate stood at 6.24% at the end of May, the lowest figure for this period since 2009. The City Council also highlights that the number of unemployed people has more than halved compared to May 2013, when 14,054 unemployed individuals were counted in the city.
Since then, the active population of Torrejón de Ardoz has increased by 7,510 people, reaching a total of 99,130.
