The mayor of Coslada, Ángel Viveros, and the delegate councilor for Economy, Employment, Commerce, and Energy Transition, Fernando Romero, visited the Laboral Construction Foundation to learn firsthand about the training program this entity is offering to unemployed youth in the municipality.
The municipal delegation was received by Paco Castrillo, manager of the Territorial Council of the Laboral Construction Foundation of Madrid; Laura Valverde, head of Training and Employment; and Ana Escobar, Commercial Manager of the entity. During the visit, they toured the facilities, including the workshop where the course "Pavements and Urbanization Masonry" is taught.
This training action, lasting 410 hours and running from July 9 to October 15, is aimed at a profession with high demand in the sector. The program includes 15 unemployed participants under 30 years old, who will be hired by the municipal administration to work in construction.
“"Programs like this demonstrate the clear commitment of this municipal government, within its competencies, to employment. Currently, our city has unemployment figures well below the regional and national averages, but we will not stop as long as there is a single resident without a job."
Fernando Romero explained that the objective is to improve the employability of the participants, qualifying them as professionals in the construction and civil engineering sector through an alternating training contract for ten months. The plan also promotes job placement through guidance for active job searching and the development of self-employment initiatives.
The program is financed by the Community of Madrid within the Youth Employment Promotion Program with local corporations and co-financed by the European Union (FSE+ Professional Qualification Program). Requirements to participate include being registered with the Employment Office, being unemployed, under 30 years old, registered with the National Youth Guarantee System, and lacking the professional qualification for the occupation of Maintenance Specialist / Bricklayer.
