The municipalities of Coslada and San Fernando de Henares are commemorating International LGTBIQ+ Rights Day with a joint program of activities to be held between June 17 and June 20.

The program, organized in collaboration with the Triángulo Foundation, will begin with an introductory workshop on sexual diversity, specifically aimed at young people to foster a basic and respectful understanding of human sexuality.
On Friday, June 19, the traditional raising of the LGTBI flags will take place at both municipal buildings. The institutional ceremony in San Fernando de Henares will be at 11:30 AM, followed by the one in Coslada at 12:30 PM. A manifesto for equal rights will also be read during the day.
On the same day, the Gabriel Celaya Cultural Center in San Fernando de Henares will host a free monologue by Sil de Castro at 7:00 PM. Concurrently, the Rafael Alberti Municipal Library will present the storytelling event 'The boy who did NOT want to be blue. The girl who did NOT want to be pink', with free admission until capacity is reached.
Inclusive sports will also feature on Saturday, June 20, at 10:00 AM in the Valleaguado Municipal Sports Center in Coslada, with the Open Pride handball tournament.
The grand Pride Party will conclude the events on June 20 in Coslada's Plaza Mayor. The celebration will feature performances by Nina Vagina (8:30 PM), Jimena Amarillo (9:30 PM), and Eme DJ (11:00 PM - 1:00 AM), along with a solidarity market and activities for all audiences.
The libraries of both municipalities are also participating. The Rafael Alberti Municipal Library in San Fernando de Henares will host the exhibition 'A Pride of Books' until June 30, while the Luisa Carnés Library in Coslada will display an LGTBI+ themed exhibition from June 16 to June 30.

"This celebration is not just a party but also serves to claim all the progress made and what remains to be built in equal rights for all people. We celebrate diversity, and furthermore, Coslada and San Fernando want to take a stance on what is happening."

Emi Escudero · Delegate Councilor for Equality and Diversity of Coslada

"These events are an opportunity to continue advancing in visibility, respect, and rights. From our institutions, we have the responsibility to create safe, free, and diverse spaces where all people can be who they are without fear, discrimination, and with full dignity."
