The Velilla City Council and the D.E. Karate Velilla Club have reinforced their coordination for the upcoming 2026/2027 season, aiming to foster the sports and personal growth of young karate practitioners.

The Councilor for Sports, Silvia Castillo, met with Juan Antonio Jiménez, president of the D.E. Karate Velilla Club and national coach, to review the 2025/2026 season and define the sports planning for the 2026/2027 academic year. The club currently presents students from the municipal school to various competitions, promoting their development.
The entity offers monthly technical training for its members and actively collaborates with the City Council on initiatives such as the self-defense course for women held in March. Both parties also agreed to sign a document regulating the use of municipal sports facilities, aiming for better coordination and appropriate use of these spaces.
Additionally, the Councilor for Sports detailed upcoming municipal actions starting in September, focused on the protection of children and adolescents in sports. This initiative, aimed at clubs, coaches, athletes, and families, seeks to create safer and more respectful sports environments.
The City Council has thanked the D.E. Karate Velilla Club for its commitment and dedication, recognizing its daily work in promoting sports and its values within the municipality.
