The municipal intervention has allowed the conversion of a 2,262 square meter plot that was previously undeveloped and informally used for parking. With this project, the area has become an «organized, accessible, and sustainable» environment.
“"We are taking another step in our commitment to the neighborhoods of Alcalá de Henares, transforming a space that had been degraded for years into a new public, organized, accessible, and sustainable car park on Luis Vives street. What was once a dusty plot in summer and muddy in winter, without light or security, is now a modern car park."
The new car park offers 75 spaces, including two reserved for people with reduced mobility and two equipped with charging points for electric vehicles. Additionally, the project includes the planting of 87 new trees, both within the plot and around the CEIP Luis Vives school, contributing to urban regeneration and environmental compliance.
The works involved the complete paving of the plot, access conditioning, drainage systems, new horizontal and vertical signage, and the creation of accessible routes without architectural barriers. Efficient LED public lighting has also been installed to enhance visibility and safety in the area, addressing a local demand.
These new spaces add to the 350 already available in the vicinity of Nuestra Señora de Belén and the 100 that will soon be expanded in Jiménez de Quesada, strengthening the parking options in the locality.
