Orlena de Miguel, Councillor for Security and deputy spokesperson for the Government team, detailed that distribution operations remain active throughout the day. This operation is coordinated by the Security department and involves the Local Police, Civil Protection, the Municipal Services Park, and municipal staff, in addition to the collaboration of Canal de Isabel II.
The contingency plan includes water distribution via tanker trucks, strategically located at municipal district offices. Additionally, jerrycans are being distributed at various key points in the city, prioritizing healthcare centers, senior citizen centers, people with disabilities, nurseries, and schools.
“"We are deploying all available resources to ensure water reaches all residents, especially those who need it most. This is a joint effort by the entire city, with all services working in a coordinated manner."
The councillor emphasized the importance of following official guidelines and asked residents to go to the supply points with their own containers, only when the availability of the tankers is confirmed, to avoid unnecessary travel.
Finally, De Miguel expressed gratitude for the “tireless work of all involved personnel and the exemplary behavior of the residents of Alcalá de Henares,” and reiterated that the City Council will continue to provide timely updates through its official channels.
