The incident occurred last weekend when a citizen informed authorities about a roe deer that could barely walk due to an injury on one of its legs. A police unit contacted the caller, who guided the officers to the animal's location in a hard-to-reach area, accessible only on foot.
After a thorough search, officers managed to locate the roe deer and coordinated the intervention with GREFA. A specialized worker from the organization traveled to the site to assist in the rescue. To ensure the animal's safety during transport, it was necessary to immobilize it, cover its head to reduce stress, and secure its limbs, proceeding with its evacuation on a stretcher to the police vehicle.
Finally, the roe deer was handed over to GREFA, an organization dedicated to wildlife recovery, to receive specialized veterinary care and ensure its prompt recovery.
