The Alcalá de Henares City Council has concluded improvement works on Caballería Española Street, with an investment exceeding 76,000 euros, focusing on sidewalk renovation and enhanced pedestrian accessibility.

This intervention, part of the ‘Alcalá mejora sus barrios’ Plan, has led to the complete renovation of sidewalk paving, adaptation of tree pits, and significant improvements in accessibility. The primary goal is to ensure safer and more comfortable passage in one of the municipality's busiest areas.
In addition to sidewalk enhancements, a raised crosswalk has been constructed to reduce traffic speed. In the coming weeks, the project will be completed with the installation of projectors at this pedestrian crossing to optimize visibility and, consequently, pedestrian safety.

"This intervention responds to a repeated demand from residents, who had been complaining about the poor condition of the pavement. With this action, we not only improve accessibility but also the safety and quality of public space in a key area of the city."

These works complement other recent improvements in the Caballería Española neighborhood. Last summer, over 370,000 euros were allocated to repaving adjacent streets such as Lope de Rueda, Padre Mariana, Francisco Huerta y Vega, Alonso Sánchez, Dulcinea, Juan de la Cueva, Celada, Padre Flores, and Alonso Deza, near the Lope de Vega school.

"We continue to advance in our commitment to improve the oldest neighborhoods of Alcalá de Henares, betting on the maintenance of infrastructures and the modernization of public spaces, with the aim of improving the quality of life of our neighbors."
