The Cervantes Cycle in Alcalá de Henares is presenting a selection of films adapting great literary works throughout April, inviting the public to enjoy the fusion of cinema and literature at the Teatro Salón Cervantes.

The April sessions of the Cervantes Cycle have commenced with screenings of cinematic adaptations of novels. This cultural event, which began on April 8th and 9th, featured the comedy La cena, based on a play by José Luis Alonso de Santos.
La cena tells the story of a young lieutenant and a meticulous hotel maître who strive to organize a banquet at the Hotel Palace in Madrid for a group of Francoist generals, just weeks after the end of the Spanish Civil War.
The program continues this week with the film El extranjero, inspired by the renowned work of Albert Camus. The plot is set in 1930s Algeria, where Meursault, an apathetic Frenchman, displays profound indifference to life. His emotional void leads him to commit murder and face a trial that scrutinizes his actions and existence.
Tickets for the ALCINE Club Cycle are priced at 3 €, with a reduced rate of 1 € for Friends of the Theater. It is recommended to purchase tickets in advance, either online via culturalcala.es or directly at the Teatro Salón Cervantes box office, to avoid queues and crowds before each session.
