Last Tuesday, the Infanta Catalina Public School in Alcalá de Henares hosted the delivery of diplomas and Green Flags to educational centers participating in the Ecoescuelas program, recognizing their work in sustainability.
The international initiative Ecoescuelas, which promotes environmental education and sustainability in schools, brought together representatives from the educational community, students, teachers, families, and municipal officials at this event. The gathering served to honor the work carried out during the academic year in key areas such as resource saving, waste management, biodiversity, and environmental participation.
During the ceremony, accreditation diplomas and Green Flags were awarded to centers that met the program's objectives, a distinction for the collective effort towards environmental protection and sustainable development. Furthermore, experiences and best practices were shared among the participating schools, strengthening the network of institutions committed to sustainability.
This year, the Infanta Catalina Public School received its first Green Flag.
