The festive day will kick off at 10:00 AM with the traditional parade of Gigantes y Cabezudos (Giants and Big-Heads) through the Juan de Austria neighborhood. Simultaneously, at 11:00 AM, the Plaza de Palacio will host the Massive Mus Tournament, organized by the Asociación Madrileña de Mus, expecting over 500 participants in its preliminary rounds. The finals and awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, August 26, in the Salón de Tapices of the Círculo de Contribuyentes.
Another highlight of the day will be the traditional snack with seniors at the Francisco de Vitoria residence, organized by the festive groups (peñas). Sports will also have its space with the traditional 3x3 Basketball tournament, organized by the Club Baloncesto Alcalá, in addition to multiple children's activities such as inflatable castles and unplugged games in the Plaza de Palacio and Parque Magallanes.
The cultural offering will be complemented by theater and music. At 7:00 PM, in the Escalera de las Escolapias, the play “Aldonza, La Encarada” will be performed. At 9:00 PM, there will be a dance for seniors in the Plaza de Cervantes, and at 10:00 PM, new sessions of Noches del Parque (Park Nights) and Noches del Patio (Courtyard Nights) will be held. Furthermore, the cycle Patrimonio a la Luz de la Luna (Heritage by Moonlight) resumes with a guided tour of the Palacio Consistorial.
The detailed program for Tuesday, August 26, includes various activities throughout the day, such as a giant water slide on Calle del Padre Llanos, children's workshops in Parque O´Donnell, card game competitions like Brisca and Tute, and Cheerleading exhibitions in the Plaza de Cervantes.
The festive groups (peñas) will also organize their own events, including parades with live music, skill contests like Frikigol and Free Throws, and gastronomic activities such as the BENEFIC MIGRAS AND SANGRIA organized by Peña Los Jardineros.
The nights will be enlivened with musical performances, including a tribute to Nino Bravo by Manuel Alejandro in the Noches del Parque, the show “En un lugar de la danza” by Esquivel in the Noches del Patio, and dancing with the orchestra Chicas de la Habana in the Plaza de Cervantes. The music will continue late into the night with DJ sets in the fairground tents.
