The works, part of the 'Alcalá Improves Its Neighborhoods' Plan, primarily aim to renew the road's condition and increase safety for both pedestrians and drivers.
According to the deputy mayor and urban planning councilor, Cristina Alcañiz, the project seeks to improve the quality of public space and the maintenance of the municipal road network.
The tasks will include repairing the most deteriorated sections and repaving a significant portion of the street, ensuring more comfortable and secure circulation.
In the area near Hemingway school, new horizontal road markings will be added before pedestrian crossings to encourage drivers to reduce speed, reinforcing the safety of schoolchildren and their families.
The project also includes widening the sidewalk at two points opposite the educational center to improve visibility between pedestrians and drivers and shorten crossing distances.
Furthermore, the street's signage will be updated to adapt to the new layout, and the water collection system will be improved to ensure better drainage.
