The Torrejón de Ardoz City Council, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of the Community of Madrid, has launched the 'Open Schoolyards' initiative to offer children in the municipality a safe and free space to play and engage in physical activity outside school hours.

This proposal will run from April 20 to June 19, Monday to Friday, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A total of 10 public schools in the town will participate in the program, facilitating family reconciliation and expanding educational leisure options for minors.
Once the school day ends, children, always accompanied by an adult, will be able to access the playgrounds of the participating centers, regardless of the school they are enrolled in. This edition includes the CEIPS Antonio Machado, Beethoven, Gabriel y Galán, Giner de los Ríos, Joaquín Blume, La Gaviota, Miguel Hernández, Ramón Carande, Seis de Diciembre, and La Zarzuela.
The program's main objective is to provide an adequate and supervised environment for children's leisure, avoiding the use of unauthorized spaces. To this end, it will have specialized monitors who will be responsible for organizing sports, cultural, artistic, and educational leisure activities, ensuring a safe and enriching environment.
Registrations to participate in 'Open Schoolyards' are now open and can be made online through the dedicated form.
