The day, marked by warm weather, took place one day after Easter Sunday, offering residents and visitors an open-air space for community gathering. Tradition and a communal spirit were the cornerstones of this celebration, designed for enjoyment by all ages.
A central part of the gathering was the distribution of a typical snack, which included the authentic Alcalaíno hornazo, prepared by Iván Plademunt, accompanied by hot and sweet chocolate. A gluten-free option was also available while supplies lasted, thus reviving one of the most deeply rooted customs of the Complutense city.
Various cultural groups contributed to the festive atmosphere. Participants included the Casa Regional Castilla-La Mancha with its dance group “Quintería”, the Grupo de Dulzainas de Alcalá, the Asociación Cultural “Pliego de Cordel”, the Escuela de Baile Belén Rodríguez, the dulzaina group from the Centro de Castilla y León, and the Coro y Rondalla del Henares. The event was supported by the Alcalá de Henares City Council and featured traditional children's games for the youngest attendees.
