Between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM, the gathering will offer an open-air festive atmosphere, designed for all ages, where tradition and social interaction will be the main pillars. The day aims to revive one of the city's most deeply rooted customs, fostering community participation.
The central element of the celebration will be the distribution of a typical snack, which will include the traditional Alcalá hornazo pastry, prepared by Iván Plademunt, accompanied by hot and sweet chocolate. A gluten-free option will be available while supplies last, and attendees are encouraged to complement the offering by bringing their own snacks to share.
The Hornazo Festival is an opportunity for families in Alcalá de Henares to gather, enjoy our traditions, and spend a pleasant afternoon outdoors, with music and activities for everyone.
Various local groups and associations will entertain the afternoon with their performances. Participants include the Casa Regional Castilla-La Mancha with its dance group “Quintería”, the Alcalá Dulzainas Group, the “Pliego de Cordel” Cultural Association, the Belén Rodríguez Dance School, the dulzainas group from the Centro de Castilla y León, and the Henares Choir and Rondalla. The Alcalá de Henares City Council collaborates in organizing this event.
In addition to the musical performances and snack, the youngest attendees can enjoy traditional children's games, ensuring fun for the whole family during this festive day.
