The Mayor of Móstoles, Manuel Bautista, has defended the management of Móstoles Desarrollo, inviting the opposition to resort to the Courts if their doubts persist, following the departure of Vox and Más Madrid from the Board of Directors.
The mayor's statements come after Vox and Más Madrid announced their withdrawal from the Board of Directors of Móstoles Desarrollo. Both parties justified their decision by alleging alleged legal and political irregularities in the administration of the public company, in addition to denouncing a lack of transparency in procurement processes that, according to them, are not supervised by the Board.
“
"Access to key documentation on the management of the municipal company, including economic data, budget execution, and internal reports, has been systematically denied."
Similarly, Más Madrid has pointed out aspects related to staff hiring and dismissals that, they claim, are not reported to the Board. In response to these criticisms, the Socialist Municipal Group has requested an urgent Extraordinary General Meeting of Móstoles Desarrollo to oversee the company's direction and management.
The mayor downplayed the significance of these requests, framing the criticisms within a pre-election context. Bautista highlighted the entity's achievements, mentioning an effective employment agency, favorable unemployment data, and the provision of the highest number of training courses in the Community of Madrid, including professional certificates.
“
"Móstoles Desarrollo is doing an excellent job. The opposition, a year before the elections, will start doing whatever they deem appropriate. I would simply tell them that if they have any doubts, we will be happy to clarify them."
Finally, Bautista reiterated his message to the opposition: if they believe there are irregularities, they should go to court; otherwise, they should abide by the rules of the political game.
