Casarrubuelos approves security plan for May Festivities

The Local Security Board of Casarrubuelos has greenlit the special plan to coordinate surveillance during religious and festive events.

The Local Security Board of Casarrubuelos has approved the special security plan for the upcoming May Festivities in honor of the Santísimo Cristo de la Vera Cruz, ensuring coordinated surveillance for all scheduled events.

The security operation, designed by the Local Police in collaboration with the Civil Guard, will oversee both the religious ceremonies and other activities planned during the celebrations in Casarrubuelos.
The meeting was attended by prominent figures such as the sub-delegate of the Government in Madrid, Pilar Trinidad, the mayor of Casarrubuelos, José Astillero Ballesteros, and representatives from the Civil Guard, Local Police, and the Community of Madrid, as reported by the Government Delegation.

"Casarrubuelos closed 2025 with a nearly four-point drop in its crime rate compared to 2024, reaching 30.7, well below the regional average of 54.9."

During the gathering, Pilar Trinidad also presented the municipality's crime data, highlighting a significant reduction in Casarrubuelos' crime rate during 2025, placing it well below the regional average.
Furthermore, the board discussed Casarrubuelos' upcoming integration into the VioGén system, a state mechanism for monitoring and protecting victims of gender-based violence. This inclusion will enable the Local Police to participate in managing specific cases, in coordination with the Civil Guard, thereby strengthening the City Council's direct involvement in protecting these victims.
