Mayor Candelaria Testa emphasized the local government's commitment to youth talent, considering it an essential part of their administration. The Vibra Awards are presented as an opportunity to foster a more creative and promising future for young people in the municipality of Alcorcón.

For her part, Carmen Martín, Councilor for Youth, Diversity, Technological Innovation, and Sports, explained that the main objective of this urban art competition is to encourage the participation of young people in the cultural sector, promoting urban art in Alcorcón and showcasing the creations of new talents.

Young individuals or groups aged between 14 and 25 residing in Alcorcón (at least 50% of members in the case of groups) and with artistic interests in Urban Music, Graffiti, and Hip Hop disciplines are eligible to participate. Winners, whether soloists or groups, will receive a prize of 500 euros and the professional recording of a music video in their discipline.

Finalists from each category will compete in the ‘Alcorcón Vibra 2026’ event, where the public and a specialized jury will decide the winners. The jury will be chaired by a member of the Youth and Diversity Department, accompanied by an invited expert artist in the modality and a young artist from the Association of Young Artists of Alcorcón.

In the Urban Music category, ten finalists will have the opportunity to record their track in a professional studio, with the support of established artists, to be part of an album of the same name. For the Graffiti category, artists must submit a free-themed sketch; fifteen finalists will create their work live during the event, using canvases and spray paints. Finally, the Hip-Hop category is aimed at hip-hop and other urban dance dancers, who must submit a video of their choreography with a maximum duration of three minutes.
