The Alcorcón City Council has launched the Vibra 2026 Awards, a cultural initiative designed to encourage participation and highlight the talent of young people in the municipality within urban art disciplines.

This new competition, with registrations now open, is aimed at young people aged between 14 and 25 residing in Alcorcón. Participants can enter individually or in groups, provided that at least half of their members live in the city. The categories for this first edition are Urban Music, Graffiti, and Hip-Hop, artistic expressions deeply rooted in current urban culture.
The selection process will culminate in the 'Alcorcón Vibra 2026' event, where finalists from each category will showcase their work. Winners will be chosen through a combination of public votes and evaluation by a specialized jury. The prize for the winning artist or group will be 500 euros and the opportunity to record a professional music video.
In the Urban Music category, solo artists or groups with original songs will compete to be one of the ten finalists, who will also record their song in a professional studio for a collective album. For Graffiti, aspiring artists must submit a free-themed sketch; fifteen finalists will create their work live during the event. Finally, for Hip-Hop, urban dance performers must submit a video with a choreography up to three minutes long.
The deadline for submitting applications is April 30. Registrations can be made either in person at the municipal registry or through the Alcorcón City Council's Electronic Headquarters. With this proposal, the municipality aims to provide a real platform for the artistic projection of its youth.
