The Department of Public Health, Consumer Affairs and Animal Welfare of Alcorcón has organized a new edition of Health Week, taking place from April 14 to 21, offering over 50 free activities for all ages with the goal of promoting physical, mental, and social well-being.
The week's program is structured around key areas such as prevention, physical health, emotional well-being, sexual health, and community health. Throughout these seven days, participants can enjoy workshops, informative talks, open house events, outdoor activities, and intergenerational gatherings.
Among the most notable activities is the Health Entities Meeting, scheduled for April 15 in the Plaza Reyes de España. At this event, various local organizations will showcase their work, and there will be a cardiopulmonary resuscitation demonstration by Civil Protection, along with a gardening workshop organized by the Department of Parks and Gardens.
As a new feature, the ‘Health Passport’ will be introduced, a participatory initiative allowing residents to get to know Alcorcón's health associations firsthand. Upon completing the circuit and collecting the corresponding stamps, participants will be entered into a raffle for t-shirts donated by the Alcorcón Sports Group and the Alcorcón Women's Football Sports Group.

"With this program, Alcorcón reaffirms its commitment to public well-being and invites citizens to be active protagonists of this week, transforming health into a space for collective encounter and participation."
On the same day, April 15, the ‘Together We Make Health’ March will take place, starting at 11:00 AM from outside the Los Cantos Sports Center. The route, enlivened by the ‘Equipo Médula’ batucada from IES Jorge Guillén, will conclude in the Plaza Reyes de España with the reading of a manifesto and an open Zumba session.
The week will also promote the ‘Social Prescription’ project, driven by the Alcorcón Health Entities Network, which aims to improve quality of life through community resources. Additionally, workshops and activities will be held for over 300 primary and secondary students, organized by the Municipal Health School and the Addiction Prevention Area.

"From the municipal government, we work on health promotion from every point of view and 365 days a year, but during this week we focus, in a multidisciplinary and highly participatory way with the involvement of more than 30 health entities and associations, on the need for a livable city that implies promoting a healthy city for the well-being of its citizens: we must take care of our health and promote it from the public sphere."
