The town of Alcorcón is gearing up for its traditional Santo Domingo and San Dominguín Festivities, scheduled from April 8 to 12, featuring a diverse program of cultural, musical, and leisure activities for all audiences.

The celebrations will commence on Wednesday, April 8, with a floral offering to Santo Domingo, starting from Alfares Street and concluding at the Santa María la Blanca Church. This will be followed by a triduum and mass in honor of the saint, and a performance by the 'Manuel de Falla' Municipal Music Band in the Plaza de España.
The opening speech, delivered by María del Carmen Pontes de Dios and the Mayor of Alcorcón, Candelaria Testa, will take place in the Plaza de España. The inaugural day will conclude with a fireworks display and the traditional distribution of lemonade and 'cascajo' at the Brotherhood's headquarters, followed by a performance by the Orquesta Efecto Parranda.
On Thursday, April 9, a parade with music and 'cabezudos' (big-heads) will wind through the town's streets. The Plaza Reyes de España will host children's activities such as dances, traditional games, and face painting. After the triduum and mass, and another round of lemonade and 'cascajo', the evening will end with a DJ session in the Plaza de España.
Friday, April 10, will feature the III Popular Pilgrimage 'El Puchero', culminating at the Nuestra Señora de los Remedios Hermitage. In the afternoon, children's activities will resume, followed by the triduum and mass. The Plaza Reyes de España will host the musical show 'Óscar Recio: 40 años de vida'.
Saturday, April 11, the main day of the festivities, will begin with a High Mass at the Santa María la Blanca Church. Afterwards, the procession of Santo Domingo and San Dominguín, accompanied by the 'Manuel de Falla' Municipal Music Band and the Traditional Dances and Customs Group of Alcorcón, will parade through the streets to the Santo Domingo de la Calzada Parish Church, where it will conclude this year to mark its 25th anniversary. The afternoon will include a line dancing session and another DJ performance in the Plaza de España, along with the distribution of lemonade and 'cascajo'.
The festivities will conclude on Sunday, April 12, with a family day in the Plaza de España, featuring a tombola, performances by a 'rociero' group and the Peña Flamenca de Alcorcón, a communal meal, and a final performance by the Dance Factory Dance School.
