Women's National Team Begins World Cup Preparation in Las Rozas

The Spanish women's national football team begins its training camp this Wednesday at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas to prepare for the qualifying matches for the 2027 Brazil World Cup, facing England and Ukraine.

The 25 footballers selected by coach Sonia Bermúdez are scheduled to meet at 4:30 PM at the RFEF facilities, where they will hold their first training session starting at 7:00 PM. The main new addition to the squad is Athletic Club midfielder Clara Pinedo.
The preparation in Las Rozas will take place behind closed doors, with four morning training sessions scheduled for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Afterwards, the team will travel to London for the match on Tuesday at 8:00 PM against England at Wembley, a crucial game in the fight for direct qualification to the World Cup.
After the commitment in England, the team will return to Spain to continue their preparation at the Ciudad del Fútbol, with morning sessions on the following Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Finally, they will travel to Córdoba to face Ukraine on Saturday the 18th at 4:00 PM at the Bahrain Victorious Nuevo Arcángel Stadium.
In addition to Clara Pinedo, the squad includes the return of prominent players such as Cata Coll, Irene Paredes, and Mapi León from FC Barcelona, as well as forward Esther González from Gotham FC. The full list comprises goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and forwards, featuring names like Alexia Putellas, Patri Guijarro, Mariona Caldentey, Salma Paralluelo, and Athenea del Castillo.
