The strategic alliance between the Móstoles City Council and the Spanish Red Cross aims to optimize crisis management at the municipal level. This agreement will allow for better articulation of local resources with the Red Cross's Immediate Emergency Response Teams (ERIE), ensuring a more effective intervention.
Among the most notable provisions of the agreement, the Red Cross commits to providing the necessary means for the installation of a temporary shelter. This space, with capacity for up to 100 people, will be available in case of mass evacuations caused by events such as fires, floods, or snowfalls, offering basic assistance, accommodation, and covering the essential needs of those affected.
Additionally, the pact includes the development of prevention, awareness, and training initiatives aimed at citizens. These actions seek to increase the preparedness of Móstoles residents for potential risks, fostering a culture of self-protection and community response.
“"This agreement is another step in our commitment to the safety and protection of all Móstoles residents, allowing for a faster, more effective, and coordinated response to possible emergencies."
The agreement is part of a comprehensive strategy that the local administration is implementing in terms of emergencies and civil protection. This strategy includes the activation of the Móstoles Territorial Civil Protection Plan (PLATERMOST) and the creation of the General Directorate of Emergencies and Civil Protection, initiatives that seek to anticipate risks and ensure the protection of the population.
