The Leganés City Council is celebrating the IV Agri-food Market this Saturday, October 17, bringing together 15 producers from the Community of Madrid to offer local products.

The square of Mayor José Manuel Matheo Luaces, in the Arroyo Culebro neighborhood, will host this event from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The market will allow residents to directly purchase products such as cheeses, honey, olive oil, fruits, vegetables, breads, and sweets, as well as cured meats, empanadas, and liquors.
Promoted by the Delegation of Economy, Local Development, Commerce, and Employment, the event aims to promote proximity commerce and provide visibility to the region's agri-food business sector. Fifteen producers and companies will participate, including Cervezas Cibeles, Mi Vergel, Alegría de la Huerta, Madrid Miel, Oohlala Bistró, NU-BO, Fruto del Baobab, Masa & Miga, Quesos Marqués de Mendiola, Lácteas La Jarama, Riquísimas Empanadas, JPMarabotto, Lechal Colmenar, Aceite Oleofanum, and Campo Real.
The mayor of Leganés, Miguel Ángel Recuenco, highlighted that this initiative continues the municipal commitment to bring regional products closer to residents and support small businesses. "With this fourth market, we continue the possibility for residents to get to know and enjoy the products of our land, talk directly with those who produce them, and discover everything our producers offer," he stated.
For his part, the delegate councilor for Economy, Local Development, Commerce, and Employment, José Eugenio Marín, emphasized the role of these initiatives in the municipality's economic revitalization, creating spaces for producers and companies to establish direct relationships with consumers in different neighborhoods.
“

"Economic revitalization requires concrete actions that allow producers and companies to connect with consumers. With this market, we create a space where they can present their products, showcase their work, and establish a direct relationship with residents."

Sommelier Alberto García Luna will lead the experience, with sessions at 12:15 PM, 1:00 PM, and 1:45 PM.
The day will conclude with cultural and leisure activities. At 11:00 AM, there will be a horticulture workshop. At 11:30 AM, the Academia de Baile Las Mil y Una Danzas will perform, followed by the Coro Rociero Al Barakah at 12:00 PM. These activities aim to make the market a family and social gathering space.
