The San Nicasio Festivities in Leganés have broken participation records this year, coinciding with the commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the Villa, thanks to a concert lineup that filled the Fairgrounds each night.

The Fairgrounds in Leganés registered an exceptional atmosphere and a large public turnout during the nights of the San Nicasio Festivities. Artists such as Juan Magán, Mägo de Oz, Siempre Así, Fangoria, and Nancys Rubias headlined a musical lineup that was key to the participation success.
The celebrations kicked off with a performance by the orchestra Panorama, which offered a concert of over three hours featuring nearly 200 songs. The official start was on Wednesday the 7th with the opening speech, delivered by Civil Protection volunteers from Leganés, who expressed their pride in being "neighbors of the neighborhood" and ensuring public safety. The ceremony, held in the Plaza de San Nicasio, concluded with a tribute performance to Joaquín Sabina by Keny Castellano.
The mayor of Leganés, Miguel Ángel Recuenco, highlighted that the festivities were "on par with the 400 years of the Villa" and thanked the massive turnout and exemplary behavior of the residents. He also acknowledged the work of the National Police, Local Police, and Civil Protection in ensuring safety without significant incidents.
On Friday the 9th, Juan Magán drew thousands of people with his hits. The night also featured Claudia León, winner of the ‘Leganés a Ritmo Joven’ competition, and Juan Peña with his ‘Aura Show’. On Saturday the 10th, the San Nicasio Rock festival filled the venue with bands like Kamikazes, Barracuda, Leize, and Mägo de Oz. On Sunday the 11th, Siempre Así opened an eclectic night, followed by Nancys Rubias and Fangoria.
Other notable performances included the ‘Cerca de las Estrellas’ Gala on Thursday the 8th, featuring artists like Lys Pardo and Los Brincos, and the closing on Monday the 12th with Paula Mattheus and the duo Besmaya.
In addition to the concerts, the festivities included traditional activities such as the parade of Gigantes y Cabezudos (Giants and Big-Heads), the 48th San Nicasio Popular Race, and the distribution of a popular paella, which brought together hundreds of families and reinforced the participatory nature of the celebrations.
