On Sunday, May 24, the Parque Ciudad de los Niños will host this new celebration, designed for registered groups to share meals in a designated area and participate in inflatable games. The day aims to promote interaction among representatives of each 'peña' (social club) in a natural setting, with shaded areas and a focus on environmental respect.
Registration guidelines will be available soon on the municipal website. A maximum of 20 'peñas' will be allowed, and if there are more applications, a draw will be held. Requirements include having between 20 and 100 members, with at least two-thirds being residents of Getafe and one-third being adults. Participants will also be asked to wear an identifying t-shirt and attend the opening proclamation in the Plaza de la Constitución to fill it with color.
The park's skating rink will be transformed into a cooking area, while the meadow will host various inflatable challenges, including water and skill games. 'Peñas' can spread throughout the park, utilizing shaded tree areas and picnic spots, with the exception of the children's play area, which will be reserved for younger visitors.
“"The purpose is for it to be a day of gathering, where registered groups can have their meals in a designated space and inflatable games will be organized."
Getafe's pre-festivities are consolidated with a preceding weekend full of performances. On Friday, May 15, and Saturday, May 16, the Espacio ACAR will host two of the most prominent orchestras in the national scene: La Misión on Friday and the Orquesta Panorama on Saturday.
The following weekend, Friday will feature concerts by Kiko Veneno and the Orquesta La Tribu, with a rock-oriented proposal. On Saturday, David Bustamante will perform at the Ferial, and Sunday will see Sidonie and a tribute to Super Submarina. The program will continue with the breakthrough group Sanguijuelas del Guadiana on Monday, and will include tribute acts on Wednesdays and Thursdays, with homages to Extremoduro and Queen.
