Students from the Public Employment-Training and Qualification Program at ALEF Getafe have visited the Joaquín Leguina Regional Library of the Community of Madrid and the Regional Archive of the Community of Madrid. The objective of this educational visit was to introduce students to the functioning of these institutions and their work in managing and conserving information and documentation.
During their time at the Joaquín Leguina Regional Library, the group learned about the services offered by the institution and the collection it houses, as well as the work carried out to preserve and disseminate the bibliographic heritage of the Community of Madrid.
Subsequently, the students moved to the Regional Archive of the Community of Madrid, where they learned how documents generated by the Government and the regional Administration are organized, preserved, and safeguarded.
This training activity allowed students to gain firsthand knowledge of spaces and processes related to document management, applying the knowledge acquired during their studies to a real professional environment. These visits complement the training and broaden students' understanding of different professional fields, promoting practical learning connected to the world of work.
The initiative is part of the Program for the Promotion of Youth Employment with Local Corporations, Public Program for Employment-Training and Qualification (09-CCJ1-00031.3/2026).
