The Juan XXIII Vocational Training Center in Alcorcón hosted the twentieth edition of Children's Day, centered on UNICEF's 'Water Drops' solidarity project.

The ‘Water Drops’ project by UNICEF, aimed at facilitating access to drinking water in developing countries, was the main focus of the twentieth edition of Children's Day. The event took place last Friday, May 29th, at the Juan XXIII Vocational Training Center facilities in Alcorcón.
The activity once again involved students and faculty from the Higher Vocational Training Cycle (CGS) in Early Childhood Education. The proceeds from the sale of UNICEF solidarity bracelets were entirely dedicated to this international project.
The event was attended by José María Palazuelos, vice president of UNICEF Madrid, and Nieves Mendoza Roldán, head of Economic Management for Vocational Training Centers at the Regional Ministry of Education and Universities of the Community of Madrid. Representing the center was the director, Juan Manuel Velasco, along with faculty from the cycle and other departments.
The gathering brought together children aged between 2 and 10 years, who participated in a program of educational and cultural activities focused on the gastronomy, geography, art, history, and folklore of four autonomous communities: Andalusia, Extremadura, Castilla y León, and Madrid.
The organizing students were responsible for facilitating the activities, dressed in regional attire representative of the communities studied.
The initiative reinforces the educational and solidarity-driven nature of the center, with the ‘Water Drops’ project as the central element of a day linked to cooperation and social awareness.
