The Polvoranca Recycling Center in Alcorcón reopened its doors to the public this Thursday, April 16, following six weeks of extensive renovation and modernization works, managed by the Municipal Services Company of Alcorcón (ESMASA).

Located in the Urtinsa I Industrial Park, the facility has undergone a thorough overhaul, including the renovation of the discharge pits, with demolition, excavation, optimization of drainage systems, and pavement replacement. Additionally, a complete painting job was carried out to align the space with the corporate image of the Alcorcón City Council.

"We are very satisfied with the final state of the works at the Polvoranca Recycling Center, which we were able to execute within the agreed deadlines. These were necessary tasks to adapt to modern times a facility that is a fundamental pillar in waste recycling for the citizens of Alcorcón."

Raquel Rodríguez · President of ESMASA
This center allows citizens to deposit a wide variety of waste, including mineral and vegetable oil, paint, varnish, wood, clothing, footwear, paper, cardboard, solvents, furniture, household items, mattresses, glass, car batteries, batteries, light bulbs, electrical and electronic appliances, aerosols, hazardous waste containers, scrap metal, toner, ink cartridges, and pruning remains. The operating hours remain Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
Alcorcón complements this service with the Químicas Recycling Center, located at Calle Químicas, 4, which operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and on weekends and holidays from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The latter accepts additional waste such as coffee capsules, bio-sanitary waste, and rubble. The city also has 31 mini-recycling points and 14 itinerant mobile recycling points, strategically distributed to facilitate recycling for all residents.
