The partial closure of Metro Line 10 between Cuzco and Nuevos Ministerios, effective since March 28, directly impacts residents of Alcorcón, who rely on this connection to access the capital.

The comprehensive renovation works at Santiago Bernabéu station are the main reason for this interruption, which is expected to last until 2027. This line is crucial for commutes from Alcorcón, along with Renfe's C-5 line.
To mitigate inconvenience, the Regional Transport Consortium (CRTM) has implemented a special EMT bus service. This substitute service incurs no additional cost for Metro users and connects the stations of Plaza Castilla, Cuzco, Santiago Bernabéu, and Nuevos Ministerios.
Buses operate with a frequency of 2-3 minutes during peak hours on weekdays (from 06:00 to 21:00) and 3-8 minutes during other times. On Saturdays and holidays, the frequency is 3-4 minutes between 09:00 and 22:00, and 4-8 minutes during other hours.
In addition to the substitute services, Madrid authorities have reminded Alcorcón residents about other public transport alternatives. These include EMT bus lines 27 and 147, as well as Cercanías Renfe lines C-2, C-3, C-4, C-7, C-8, and C-10. These options are particularly relevant given that Renfe's C-5 line is also experiencing partial weekend closures until May 10 due to infrastructure improvements.
The disruption of Line 10 poses a significant challenge for Alcorcón residents who need to travel to central areas of the capital. Although the works are expected to conclude in 2027, a partial closure on a high-traffic Metro line always causes inconvenience.
