During the State of the City Debate, the local government confirmed it will not apply the waste levy, becoming the second municipality in the region to take this stance. The decision addresses the economic situation of residents and dissatisfaction with the management of funds from the Parla Este urban consortium.
Regarding mobility, the council has decided that access restrictions in the Low Emission Zones (LEZ) will only be activated if pollution levels exceed established limits. The goal is to keep the city center free of restrictions as long as air quality remains within acceptable parameters.
Despite this easing, the local government will implement parking regulation measures in the center using parking meters. This blue zone will include exemptions for vehicles with their road tax registered in Parla, aiming to discourage the use of the center as a park-and-ride area for commuters using the Cercanías train service.
