Eight people treated for smoke inhalation after Fuenlabrada apartment fire

The fire, which started on Calle Delicias, temporarily confined several residents and led to eight people being taken to the hospital.

Eight people have been taken to the hospital for minor smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in an apartment on Calle Delicias in Fuenlabrada this Thursday.

The fire started around 3:40 PM in a third-floor apartment at number 3, Calle Delicias. Several units from the Community of Madrid Fire Department responded to the scene and successfully extinguished the flames. Upon arrival, the affected apartment was found to be empty.
Due to smoke accumulation in the stairwell, some residents on upper floors had to remain confined to their homes until the situation was under control. Summa 112 paramedics attended to a total of twelve residents. Four did not require hospital transfer, while the other eight were evacuated to Fuenlabrada Hospital with mild symptoms from smoke inhalation.

Among those affected are residents from the third and fourth floors of the building. The Local Police of Fuenlabrada has launched an investigation to determine the causes of the fire.
