Mobility in Móstoles is experiencing changes following the opening of a new roundabout aimed at improving access to the Rey Juan Carlos University Hospital. This new infrastructure connects the healthcare center with Tulipán street and has resulted in a reorganization of the route for the interurban line 519A, which operates between the hospital and the El Bosque urbanization in Villaviciosa de Odón.
The change, which is now in effect, modifies only the bus itinerary, keeping the usual stops unchanged. Buses on line 519A will now travel along Gardenia street instead of Dalia street, in both directions towards the hospital and towards Villaviciosa de Odón. The Regional Transport Consortium of Madrid indicates that this adaptation responds to the new traffic configuration and takes advantage of the newly enabled access.
Despite the route alteration, passengers will not have to change their travel habits, as all stops are maintained. The main expected benefit is smoother circulation in the vicinity of the hospital, an area known for its high traffic intensity within the municipality.
This new roundabout is part of a series of actions to optimize mobility around the Rey Juan Carlos University Hospital, facilitating both vehicle entry and public transport transit. The intervention not only improves the connection with Tulipán street but also aims to manage the traffic generated by the healthcare center and by future urban developments planned in the area.
The reorganization of the 519A line's route is one of the first visible consequences of this new infrastructure, designed to make access to one of Móstoles' main healthcare facilities more convenient and safer.
