From Friday, June 5, to June 12, the Joan Miró Sociocultural Center will host an exhibition showcasing works by participants from the Painting and Drawing, and Children's Painting workshops of the Aguaviva Mujeres Association.
The Almudena Grandes Central Library will be the venue on Friday, June 5, at 6:00 PM, for the presentation of ‘Peregrino’, the latest work by local writer Eduardo Caballero. The book consists of a series of independent stories that build a common narrative as the reading progresses, exploring themes such as family, identity, introspection, hope, grief, and the perception of reality.
On Saturday, June 6, the Villa de Móstoles Cultural Center will host a free hyperrealism workshop with colored pencils, led by artist Paco Martín, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This activity is part of the exhibition dedicated to hyperrealistic drawing with colored pencils, which can be visited at this venue until June 26, highlighting the technical and expressive possibilities of this artistic discipline.
Also on Saturday, the El Soto Sociocultural Center will host a new edition of ‘Llega la leyenda ¡plastiquera!’, organized by the Asociación Los Últimos Jinetes, from 5:00 PM to 8:15 PM, with free access.
During the weekend of June 6 and 7, the Family Cinema cycle will screen the film ‘Looking for Magical Doremi’. Screenings will take place on Saturday at 6:00 PM at the El Soto Sociocultural Center, and on Sunday at 12:00 PM at the Norte-Universidad Sociocultural Center and at 6:00 PM at the Joan Miró Sociocultural Center. The film tells the story of three young women embarking on a magical adventure.
The City Museum will host the awards ceremony for the XV National Poetry Contest ASEAPO 2026 and the presentation of the anthology ‘Maldita Musa 2026’ on Saturday, June 6, at 6:00 PM. Attendance is free with a prior invitation available at the center.
The performance scheduled for June 6 in the Plaza de los Pájaros, titled ‘Carena’, has been suspended due to a technical problem, according to sources from the Culture department.
The cultural agenda will conclude on Sunday, June 7, with the lecture ‘Water in the Ancient Mediterranean: Myths, Cults, and Civilization’, delivered by historian Mª Nieves Sánchez de la Torre. The event will take place at 12:00 PM at the City Museum, with free entry via prior invitation.
