The Community of Madrid plans to complete the construction of 543 public housing units for vulnerable families this year. Of this total, the municipality of Móstoles will receive 178 housing units that will be available before the end of 2026.
Access to affordable housing is a significant challenge for residents of Móstoles and the rest of Spain. High purchase prices and the subsequent increase in rental demand have driven up costs, becoming a central concern for the public.
These 178 public housing units in Móstoles will be specifically designated for social rent, facilitating access to a home for families in vulnerable situations. Móstoles, along with Majadahonda and Madrid capital, are the only municipalities to benefit from this housing package before the year's end.
The regional government aims to construct 2,100 apartments during the current legislative term, with a total investment of 250 million euros. Currently, 1,200 homes are already in various stages of construction across the region, exceeding 50% of the four-year target. Móstoles is positioned as a key area for urban development, with future projects including the creation of 12,500 homes through the R-4 and R-1 Partial Plans.
