Leganés City Council has opened registration for the 2026-2027 academic year, offering 216 workshops for seniors, a significant increase from the previous year.

Registration for senior workshops in Leganés for the 2026-2027 academic year is now open. Interested individuals can submit their applications until June 16 to participate in a program that significantly expands this year, reaching a total of 216 workshops, 30 more than the previous edition.
These activities will take place across the city's five Municipal Senior Centers and cover a wide range of proposals. The offerings include physical exercise, dance, crafts, educational courses, and initiatives aimed at fostering active aging, social participation, and the overall well-being of users.
The increase in places and activities has been made possible by enhanced resources allocated to the Senior area, which allowed for a 20% increase in the service contract responsible for organizing a substantial part of the programming.

"The effort made to expand the offerings and bring activities closer to a greater number of residents is noteworthy. The approved budgetary increase, along with the improved service contract, has enabled a new boost to the centers' programming."

Key new features for the upcoming academic year include the launch of workshops at the Central Library. This initiative addresses a request from the Leganés Norte Neighborhood Association and aims to improve access for seniors with mobility challenges.
Furthermore, residents of Arroyo Culebro will, for the first time, have specific senior workshops available at the recently inaugurated neighborhood Cultural Center. This initiative stems from demands by both neighborhood associations and local seniors seeking more convenient access without the need to travel to other parts of the city.
Application forms can be collected starting June 4 from the concierge desks at the Municipal Senior Centers. The application submission period will be open from June 8 to June 16 at the designated centers for each zone: Gregorio Marañón, El Carrascal, Juan Muñoz, Miguel de Cervantes, and Enrique Tierno Galván.
Comprehensive information regarding the workshop offerings, eligibility requirements, and the registration process is available both at the Municipal Senior Centers and on the official website of the Leganés City Council.
