Leganés will host a new edition of its Agri-food Market this Saturday, June 13th, at the Plaza de la Policía Nacional, featuring local and artisanal products.

Following the positive reception of previous editions, Leganés is set to hold a new Agri-food Market this weekend. The event, scheduled for Saturday, June 13th, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Plaza de la Policía Nacional, next to the Fuente de la Luna, will bring together local producers and agri-food companies from the Community of Madrid.
Well-known names such as Madrid Miel, Mi Vergel, Alegría de la Huerta, Oohlalá Bistró, Masa & Miga, and Zukukis will participate, alongside other firms specializing in proximity products and artisanal craftsmanship. This initiative, driven by the Trade and Local Development Department of the Leganés City Council, aims to foster responsible consumption and bolster local commerce through direct interaction between producers and consumers.
The Councilor for Trade and Local Development, José Marín, highlighted the goal of bringing these initiatives to different parts of the city and establishing them as regular activities. "What we seek is very simple and yet very important: to bring proximity products closer to our residents and take this initiative to more neighborhoods in the city," he stated. The positive response from the May edition has encouraged the council to expand the project, planning three markets throughout 2026.
Beyond the direct sale of fruits, vegetables, cheeses, cured meats, honey, wines, and craft beers, the day will feature activities for all ages. Children can enjoy a horticulture and sustainable food production workshop, while dance academies Patricia Domenech and Dreamers Dance Studio will provide performances.
The City Council emphasizes that these markets not only boost the local economy but also highlight the work of farmers and small producers who keep Madrid's agri-food tradition alive, reinforcing Leganés' commitment to local commerce.
