The conference, supported by international organizations such as SIGCSE, ACM Europe, and Informatics Europe, gathered 364 specialists from 39 countries. The event, one of the most prestigious dedicated to research on computer science education, was organized by Ángel Velázquez Iturbide and Jaime Urquiza Fuentes, members of the ETSII.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Rector of URJC, Abraham Duarte Muñoz; SIGCSE President Brian Dorn; ITiCSE steering committee chair Susan Rodger; and the chairs of the program and congress committees. "The conference has been both a great scientific and organizational success. In this regard, the support given to the congress by the Management of the Vicálvaro Campus and the involvement of several ETSII professors and sixteen volunteers have been fundamental," commented Ángel Velázquez.
ITiCSE is recognized in the iCORE index for its scientific quality. This edition accepted only 25% of the 416 submitted papers, selecting 104 works after evaluation by 365 reviewers and 49 meta-reviewers.
The congress spanned six days. The first three days were dedicated to working groups and the doctoral consortium, while the remaining three hosted the presentation of accepted research. The program included 54 posters, 29 short papers, and three panel discussions. The 12 working groups focused on preparing reports on current topics in computer science education.
International experts such as Lillian Cassel (Villanova University) and Carlos Delgado Kloos (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid) delivered the keynote speeches. Bethany Edmunds (Northeastern University) spoke upon receiving a SIGCSE award. URJC's participation in ITiCSE promotes its work and strengthens international collaboration in computer science education.
