The Community of Madrid has officially closed the file regarding the proposed segregation of the Campodón urbanization from Alcorcón to join Villaviciosa de Odón.

The resolution, signed on May 6, 2026, by the General Directorate for Territorial Rebalancing, concludes the administrative process initiated on March 9. The neighborhood petition had argued for the area's functional unity with the neighboring municipality and improved public services as the basis for the request.
The procedure stalled after regional authorities requested the correction of several technical requirements on April 13. Specifically, the administration demanded the formal establishment of a neighborhood committee and the submission of mandatory legal documentation under the Local Entities Population and Territorial Demarcation Regulations.
Following the expiration of the ten-day deadline without the required response, the General Directorate for Territorial Rebalancing determined that the request failed to meet the standards set by Law 39/2015, leading to the formal dismissal and archiving of the case.
The decision does not permanently bar the promoters from future attempts. The resolution notes that they may restart the process at a later date, provided they submit all necessary documentation and comply with current legal regulations.
