Researchers from the IMDEA Materials Institute have participated in the annual meeting of DIGIMATER-CM, a collaborative initiative from the Community of Madrid to advance material development through artificial intelligence and robotics.

The DIGIMATER-CM initiative, funded by the Community of Madrid (Technology Program 2024) and coordinated by the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), aims to create a research platform that accelerates the discovery of new materials by integrating artificial intelligence, laboratory automation, robotics, and data-driven experimentation.
The project is developing new digital strategies to optimize material composition, processing, and properties, while driving autonomous experimentation through collaborative robots and AI-based decision-making systems. This approach has the potential to significantly reduce development times and open new opportunities for advanced materials innovation.
During the annual meeting, IMDEA Materials researchers shared the latest advancements, exchanged knowledge with participating partners, and explored new interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities. The project at IMDEA Materials is led by Prof. Javier Llorca, Dr. Mónica Echeverry Rendón, and Dr. Maciej Haranczyk.
Project partners include the Carlos III University of Madrid, the Institute of Materials Science of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC), the Institute of Polymer Science and Technology (ICTP-CSIC), and the University of Alcalá.
